Labor Day Shooting

I had been sitting in front of a computer screen the better half of the weekend so it was awesome to get out on Monday (Labor Day) and shoot a little. Mar and I packed up a picnic lunch and walked to our favorite park (Civic Green Park) and ate. While she caught up on some reading I walked around and tried to capture a little bit of summer before its all gone. I tried to focus on color and complimenting colors. I usually do not photograph vegetation but I really wanted to get out of my comfort zone and play with color. All of these images were taken with the heavy 70-200mm and I had been wanting to test out a cheap monopod that I bought a while back. I was really happy with the mobility and the stability.
